Speakers - Britt Harris, Chief Investment officer Teacher Retirement System of Texas
Harris currently oversees Teacher Retirement System’s $110 billion portfolio and investment and asset management strategy for the pension fund. Prior to joining TRS in December 2006, Harris served as chief executive officer for Bridgewater Associates, a $145 billion global investment manager based in Westport, Conn. He previously served as president and chief investment officer for Verizon Investment Management, an $80 billion pension system, and managing director for Asea Brown Boveri, which managed pension plans in 20 countries.
Harris also served as chairman of the Council for the Investment of Employee Benefit Assets, chairman of the Investment Sub-Committee, and has advised the New York Stock Exchange. He frequently lobbies to support U.S. pension systems on social security and taxation.
